Train to teach modern foreign languages (MFL)

You chose to study languages because you are passionate about communication, culture and understanding the world beyond your own perspective. Teaching languages allows you to share that interest and inspire others to think globally.

Why teach a modern foreign language?

As an MFL teacher, you help young people develop the confidence to communicate across cultures. You broaden their horizons and give them skills that are valuable in both their personal and professional lives. This is a career with purpose: you are helping to build more connected, outward-looking citizens.

Modern Foreign Languages are crucial subjects, and as such there is significant financial support available for MFL teacher trainees. Strong candidates can earn a salary from day one, or access tax-free bursaries or scholarships.
