A Day in the life of a maths teacher

  • Bespoke lesson planning : As a maths teacher trainee, you'll organise and plan engaging lessons. You'll be responsible for delivering these lessons to your students, monitor feedback and customise your plan for better outcomes.
  • Progress monitoring: You'll monitor the progress of your class by conducting regular assessments and reviewing classwork. You will also interact with parents to report pupil progress.
  • Collaborative departmental meetings: Contribute to departmental objectives, assist in developing schemes of work, and report class data to the department head.
  • Guidance and mentorship: Benefit from weekly meetings with your subject mentor to ensure your growth and success in the .
  • Ongoing feedback: Your lessons will be observed periodically by visiting and school-based mentors to provide you tailored feedback on various aspects of teaching including lesson planning, delivery, and behaviour management. This continuous feedback plays a vital role in your development as a teacher.
