Nestled in the heart of England amidst the serene landscape of Oxfordshire, Oxford is a global symbol of academic and research excellence. Our school-based teacher training programme is tailored for aspiring educators in Oxford.

We have six schools in and around Oxford and continue to build a strong cluster in the region. Our strong local presence means you have the option of a range of primary and secondary schools and can train in a school near you.

Become a qualified teacher with the skills to thrive

At the end of your training year, on successful completion of the programme, you will be awarded Qualified Teaching Status (QTS) and an optional PGCE. You will finish our programme as a skilled and confident teacher, with everything you need to master your early career teaching (ECT) years and bring out the best in every pupil.

Why choose United Teaching as your teacher training provider in Oxford?

Teach from day one: Gain real classroom experiences and be responsible for lesson planning and delivery. Our immersive programme, distinct from a university-led PGCE, allows you to spend more time in the classroom to be strongly equipped to thrive as an early career teacher and beyond.

Placement certainty: Upon selection, you’ll receive your placement information well in advance, eliminating months of uncertainty, and allowing you to plan effectively for your training year.

Salaried options: Explore a range of funding options, including salaried positions, self-funded positions, scholarships, and bursaries. Trainees who start on the Post Graduate Teaching Apprenticeship or salaried route have their tuition fees covered.

Job ready: The success of our trainees speaks volumes. Over 80% of our trainees are offered a job in their main placement school at the end of the training programme.

Outstanding support and wellbeing: We prioritise your wellbeing throughout your teacher training journey. Every United Teaching teacher trainee is supported by school-based subject and professional mentors who will support you with lesson planning, lesson observations, behaviour strategies and career guidance.
