There are two ways to train to teach on our programme – either as a salaried or fee-paying trainee.
Salaried trainees receive an unqualified teacher’s salary during their training year and have their tuition fees funded.
Fee-paying trainees are not paid during the training year and are required to cover the costs of the tuition fees. There is a generous £26,000 teacher training bursary available to MFL trainees to help with this.
“I arrived in the UK at the age of 11 speaking almost no English and discovered new worlds through French and Spanish. I decided to train to teach because I deserve every child deserves a champion. "One of the most inspiring moments of my training was a trip to Paris. French isn't taught at my school, so the trip’s purpose was to help students build character, step out of their comfort zones, and immerse themselves in a new culture for the first time. I loved watching them realise they can connect with people anywhere in the world. "Seeing my students grow into confident and open-minded global citizens is what makes MFL so special to teach."
