Next Steps

We will review your application in the next few days. If your application meets our requirements, we will invite you to the first part of the assessment process. At this stage, we will ask you to attend an online interview, including a teaching task, with two members of the United Teaching team.

If you are successful, you will be shortlisted for the second stage of our assessment. This will be an interview with the headteacher or another senior leader of the school we have matched you with for your placement.

If for any reason you aren't successful at either stage, we will be happy to give you feedback to help you prepare for other applications in the future.

Finalising your placement

We will contact you as soon as we can after your assessment day to let you know the outcome. If we make you an offer, we will ask you to complete the formal Apply form, if you haven't done so already, and we will ask for references from two referees. We will also carry out identity and DBS checks. We will confirm your offer as soon as all of these checks have been completed.

We always try to place trainees in their first choice of school. If that isn't possible, we will work with you to find an alternative, suitable placement. If you're flexible on location, let us know on your application - your trainee placement can be a great opportunity to live, learn, and explore somewhere new.
